ChessX is an engaging chess application that blends classic gameplay with innovative features. It offers various game modes, including Play vs AI, Player vs Player, and Play vs Friend, while introducing a unique power-up system. These powers, earned as login rewards or game-winning bonuses, provide strategic move suggestions to enhance gameplay. Players earn gems through gameplay, which can be exchanged for rewards, coins, and tickets. From these rewards, users obtain special cards used to evolve powers, enhancing their abilities. For example, evolving a power from 1-star to 2-star requires a specific number of cards, such as 10. The app also includes sound effects, vibrations, and animations to create an immersive and dynamic chess-playing experience.

What we did

challenge

Integrating the evolve system using cards instead of direct gem usage required designing a multi-step reward mechanism that felt intuitive and rewarding to users. Balancing the number of gems, rewards, and cards to maintain a fair progression system was critical. Ensuring that the evolving process provided meaningful power upgrades without disrupting gameplay balance added complexity. Furthermore, incorporating smooth animations and responsive feedback for each stage of the evolution enhanced the user experience but demanded meticulous optimization.
